by Burkard Polster and Marty Ross
Drowning by Numbers (1988)
Apart from the numbers 1-100 that show up (in order) on all kinds of objects
throughout the movie, only one explicit reference to math.
At the very beginning. Girl counting 100 stars.
WOMAN: What are you doing up so late?
GIRL: I’m counting stars.
WOMAN: You really know all their names?
GIRL: Yes, I do.
WOMAN: How many did you count?
GIRL: A hundred.
WOMAN: There are more than a hundred.
GIRL: I know.
WOMAN: Why did you stop?
GIRL: A hundred is enough. Once you have counted to a hundred all the other
hundreds are the same.
